| Alloptic is fully committed to developing and promoting a standards-based Gigabit Ethernet PON solution. Alloptic's GEPON currently adheres to the IEEE 802.3 protocol to encapsulate data in Ethernet frames for transmission. Recently, Alloptic was a catalyst in the establishment of a study group within the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) that will adopt standards for "Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM)". Alloptic has once again taken a leadership role in the GEPON space by convening a working group within the IETF to address the standardization of OAM&P capabilities for GEPON Element Management Systems. |
